The figures of the passing era – Ranevskaya, Gaev, Firs – they are all like big children, pathetic and funny, but touching in their helplessness... The audience will probably give them some compassion, a sympathetic sigh of sadness – for such awkward, incomprehensible, lonely characters. Returning from a distant journey Ranevskaya, still young and beautiful woman, she knows from the beginning that the estate is doomed, she came to say goodbye to it.

During the auction, when the estate is being sold, Ranevskaya arranges a party that looks like a feast in time of plague, with tricks, dancing and fuss.

The old generation has failed to save the house that is being sold for debt, young people do not want to listen to those who give it away, who finally turned into helpless consumers. The young have their own aims, their own world view.

The stage space of the cherry orchard in the play is open to the world.  Death is not the end but the essential of a new life.  Life is tragic but always beautiful …

This performance is about time, about the generations that pass, about the history that changes everything, about changes, about the suffering that is essential of maturity ... About hope and belief that this world needs to be reformed and it will be reformed.
