Without diminishing the tragedy of Goethe’s story, the production “Faust” by Dmitry Akrish shows us a modern man, who is also constantly tempted by modern world.

Temptations, doubts and longing from satiety of life itself, – this is the essence of modern Mephistopheles, and it can manifest itself in any man in the street, a passerby or just an interlocutor. Dmitry Akrish’s production tells us that Mephistopheles is not an infernal external force but an inner conflict in a human soul. The play is a serious conversation about the loneliness of a person who gets to know the infinite void of human life.
